Have you ever heard of HYDRA?
HYDRA stands for Hart Youth Development Resource Association and was formed in 1988 to help serve the needs of the community. We offer after school, school break and summer camp childcare.
Oftentimes I'll meet someone in the community that will share that they went to HYDRA or they sent their kids to HYDRA when they were growing up. I also meet people that have lived here their whole life that have never heard of HYDRA unless you are talking about Marvel and thinking about the agents of SHIELD. (That's always what came to my mind!)
If you haven't noticed, the needs of our community are growing and so therefore HYDRA is growing. We are actively looking at ways we can help our community, if you have a suggestion, please email us at hartwellhydra@gmail.com.
One of the first ways we are growing is that we are going to offer one Friday evening a month as a Parents Night Out evening for all in the community. The hours are from 5pm-9pm for those that are K-5th grade and the cost is $25 per child.
The first one we are hosting is on Valentines! Friday February 14th.
All you need to do to register your child for it is:
1) Go to www.hartwellhydra.org
2) Choose Register and scroll to the button on the bottom of the page
3) Fill out your child's information and check off Feb 14th Parents Night Out when it asks what program.
From there we will reach out to you to confirm and process your invoice.
You are also welcome to reach out to us and schedule a tour with us before dropping off your child(ren) so we know they are comfortable. We are at 200 Clay St in the back of the Rec Dept building.
We will be serving a homemade dinner, dessert, craft and movie with popcorn ready for them to enjoy the evening with us while you enjoy the evening out! So, register your kids now!
There are so many great restaurants that you can visit in Hartwell for dinner that night!
